Dogs

  1. I am bringing my dog. Does my dog need to be on a leash?

    Yes. During the race your dog needs to be on a leash but in the event area, we do provide a dog run area and a swimming area where your dog can be off leash.

  2. Do I need to clean-up after my dog?

    No. During the race, MESA is partnering with ------ who are responsible for picking up after the dogs. They will be providing extra bags for use in the event area for use after the race.

  3. Are dogs allowed to swim in the reservoir?

    Yes, MESA has a designated area for dogs to enjoy the water.

  4. What happens if my dog gets injured during the race?

    Unfortunately, there are times when a dog experiences health issues during the race. MESA has volunteer vetererinarians on stand by in case of these unexpected situations.

Event

  1. What time do the gates open?

    The gates open at 7:00a.m. and registration begins at 7:30a.m.

  2. Is there a place for people to hang out and watch the race?

    Yes, we have an area sectioned off at the starting line and finish line.

  3. Am I allowed to bring my own food to the race?

    The Canine Classic event team does not prohibit bringing in your own food but does provide donated food to registrants during the race. There is also a Canine Carnival area where local vendors will be selling food.

  4. If I am coming to watch the event, do I need to pay?

    There will be a charge to bring your car into the Boulder Reservoir parking lot.

  5. What are the qualifying times for the BolderBoulder?

    Recently the BolderBoulder has changed their qualifying races program, and no longer designate individual races as official BolderBOULDER qualifiers. 

    You can use your time from the Canine Classic to qualify for thefirst 28 waves of the 2011 DICK’S Sporting Goods BolderBOULDER.

    Runners can view the 2011 Qualifying Times to see how it translates to the BolderBoulder waves. 

     

     


  6. What happens with my registration if the event is canceled?

    In the case of the 2012 Canine Classic being cancelled due to inclement weather, your race fee will be deemed 100% tax deductable as a donation to MESA.

     


  7. Can I come to the event to watch the race without paying a registration fee?

    Yes, we welcome everyone who would like to participate in the event. Please keep in mind that our sponsors and vendors are both donating their services and paying to sponsor this event and if you are going to take part, donations to MESA are appreciated.

    This event is a major fundraiser for MESA and funds raised go directly to supporting our programs. 

  8. What time does the race start?

    The race kicks off at 9:00a.m. for runners, 9:10a.m. if you choose to walk the 5K.
